2018-Happy & New

Is it seriously already the middle of January?! I haven’t even set any resolutions yet, and the month is almost over. Yikes! What I have done, though, is reflect on 2017 and thank God for keeping me and my family another year. What a blessing it is to be alive, well, healthy and loved!

I’ve decided that my primary focus this year will be to get organized. I am hiring a professional organizer for my home (waaaayyyyy too much for me to do) and I am going to tackle our office! My husband and I have 4 businesses and keeping everything in order has not been easy. I’ve never been one to be well-organized, but now that I’m a real grown-up with multiple roles and responsibilities, I have to start. I plan to purchase storage bins for each business and create separate folders for forms and receipts.

My secondary focus will be meal planning for my family. I don’t know if i’ll go as far as weekly meal prepping, but I would like to have an idea of what I want to cook for the week. Most days I just wing it and tell my tribe, “You get whatcha get and you don’t pitch a fit!” It works, but I’m working on it.

Since I last posted, so much has happened in my life. To begin, we’ve added a baby boy to our tribe. Let me tell you: He is EVERYTHING!!! A pure bundle of chunky, love-filled JOY!  I started a position at the Boys & Girls Clubs as a Resource Development & Marketing Specialist where I have the blessing to work 85% from home with my baby boy in my lap or playing at my feet (Won’t He do it?!). I’ve also been on a breastfeeding journey that has truly enlightened me, and OMG- I have some stories to tell about that! Our kids will be 11,7,5, and 1 this year. I can’t even wrap my mind around it, but it’s definitely happening.

Life is AMAZING right now. My husband is home since he is done with football, and although it was an adjustment, I’m so happy to have him around for more than a few weeks at a time! I can definitely use the help! Speaking of help, God answered another prayer when my sister’s company closed and she was able to commit 3 of her weekdays to come be with the fam and help out around this place! I am forever grateful for God turning closed doors into open opportunities! With in-home support from my better half and my sister, I can focus more on my entrepreneurial spirit and creating a more holistic version of Martavia.

I look forward to sharing more on this 2018 Journey. I vow to dedicate more time to writing and creating this year as well, so visit BeingMrsMommy often! TTYL!

XOXO,

Martavia
